Manila, Philippines -  An estimated 3,200 runners gathered to join the premier run of the south, The Greenfield City Clean Air Run at Greenfield City, Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Running for its fourth year, the much-anticipated event is held annually every last week of May.

The Greenfield City Clean Air Run featured four race categories: 500m dash (for children 5 to 12 years old), 5K, 10K and 21K. Participants experienced an out-of-the city run, amid the lush greens and fresh air, a great alternative to city runs in the metro. The run also served as a chance for participating runners to experience Greenfield City’s park-like environment and introduce them to a different relaxing yet dynamic setting right outside Manila. It enabled them to see the complementing residential and commercial features of Greenfield City, including a short trip inside Greenfield’s residential park project, Pramana, and a glimpse of the company’s commercial developments, Sta. Rosa Business Park and Greenfield Auto Park.

Aside from the 5K, 10K, and 21K winners, The Greenfield City Run also recognized winning participants from their special categories: “Barefoot Runners” participated in by expert runners who want a more adventurous and lighter way of running, “My 1st 21K” joined by those who challenge themselves to run their first half-marathon.

Showing their support were personalities such as Sen. Pia Cayetano, Iron Man and triathlete Belle Grandinetti, Lt. Col. Mike Logico, president of Barefoot Running Philippines, Gerard Pizarras of Team Soleus, and Patrick Concepcion, founder of Condura. Also in attendance were Jeffrey D. Campos, president and chairman of Greenfield Development Corporation and Duane Alexander Santos, executive vice president and general manager.

Overall, the run received positive feedback from participants. From its affordable registration fee, to refreshments and snacks throughout the run, to the picturesque scenery and festive atmosphere, the Greenfield Clean Air Run 2012 earned a thumbs-up from its new and yearly participants alike. The congregation and set-up took place in Greenfield’s outlet shopping center, Paseo de Sta. Rosa, where some runners took a leisurely stroll after the run.

To cap off the experience for the runners, lots of freebies and loot bags for every runner were made available at the end of the race.

With the success of this year’s event, Greenfield promises to make the premiere run of the south bigger and better for its runners.
