22-hectare Unilab compound to be re-developed
Manila Standard Today - August 24, 2009

GREENFIELD Development Corp. is developing its 22-hectare property in Mandaluyong City into a residential, commercial and office area that will equal the best that other developers have built, the company said yesterday.

The company is now drafting the master plan for the property along Shaw Boulevard and is open to partnering with other developers to execute it, according to Greenfield chairman Jeffrey Campos.

The redevelopment would take 25 to 50 years, he said.

Greenfield partnered with Century Properties Inc. to put up a twin 35-story residential condominium, SOHO Central, within the property.

Campos said there were also plans to renovate the Edsa Central mall within the property to keep up with the other commercial developments within the area which hosts the Shangri La hotel and SM Prime Holdings' SM Megamall.

United Laboratories, a Greenfield affiliate occupies a big portion of the property, but it has been moving its offices and warehouses to Biñan in Laguna.

Campos said it was better for Unilab to move out because the rising property prices in Mandaluyong made it more logical to redevelop the site.

Greenfield is also developing a 300-hectare property in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, into a Greenfield City hosting a high-end residential subdivision, office buildings and a commercial center.

Greenfield City now houses Greenfield Auto Park, a 65-hectare special economic zone where 25 hectares of land serve as the manufacturing facility of Ford Motor Philippines Inc., the local unit of world's second largest car firm.
